This collaboration reflects TEKUNs commitment to enhancing its Shariah governance framework and ensuring robust compliance across its operations. Key highlights of the training included: Understanding the Role of the Shariah Secretariat Emphasising its importance in research, governance, and communication with Shariah committees and management, in line with Bank Negara Malaysias Shariah Governance Policy Document 2019 and SKMs GP28: Garis Panduan Tadbir Urus Syariah. Shariah Governance Framework In-depth discussions on the Islamic Financial Services Board (IFSB) principles, highlighting both ex-ante (policy formation and dissemination) and ex-post (compliance review and audit) governance mechanisms. Meeting Management and Secretariat Responsibilities Practical guidance on managing pre-, during, and post-meeting processes, ensuring effective coordination, proper documentation, and timely dissemination of Shariah resolutions. Leveraging Technology in Shariah Governance Introducing digital tools such as Otter.ai and Fireflies.ai to enhance meeting documentation, accuracy, and efficiency in Shariah committee operations. The workshop also explored the integration of Shariah compliance into organisational policies, consistent monitoring mechanisms, and regulatory considerations under the Islamic Financial Services Act (IFSA), particularly in relation to Shariah committee responsibilities.
